ModulerNet is a .Net Mvc solution aimed at delivering applications and reusable components on the ASP.NET platform. It will create shared components for building ASP.NET applications and extensions, and specific applications that leverage these components to meet the needs of end-users, scripters, and developers. Additionally, it will provide help for existing .NET applications to be successful in achieving their goals. O
ModulerNet project is focused on delivering a .NET-based CMS application that will allow users to rapidly create content-driven Websites, and an underlying framework that will allow developers and customizers to provide additional functionality through extensions, themes and modules.
The minimum requirements for running ModulerNet are the following:
A web server such as IIS Express 8, 7.5 or IIS 7.x.
When installing IIS, make sure you enable the ASP.NET IIS modules. Also make sure that you run project in an integrated pipeline ASP.NET 4 application pool.
Important: If you previously installed any pre-release versions of WebMatrix, ASP.NET Web Pages, or ASP.NET MVC 4, you should uninstall those products before ModulerNet will run correctly on your computer.
By default, ModulerNet includes a built-in database that you can use without installing a separate database server. However, if you are running SQL Server , SQL Server Express, Mysql you can configure ModulerNet to use either of those products instead by specifying a connection string. Optionally, you can enter a table prefix so that multiple installations can share the same database but keep their data separate.
You can work easlily with Visual Studio 2017 and when you first run the project, a setup screen guides you through the installation process.
The setup screen also includes a section where you can choose a data installation file to set up your site. You can choose from the following files and start with a ready demo with content.
You can create your installation files from admin panel and your teammates can work locally with the same content you have.
ModulerNet is made of Modules. There are more than 50 modules and you can do most of your work with these modules. You can also make your own module by looking at basic modules and you can learn how to make a module. These modules are Mvc projects and learning to build a module is straight forward.
Here are some important modules:
- Custom Content Types
- Media Library
- Dynamic Menus
- Dynamic Forms
- Full Text Search (Lucene)
- Seo Urls
- SSL Ready
